While listening to the overwhelming outflow of passion of U.S. taxpayers as they fume over the AIG mess, Chairman of the FED, Ben Bernanke was on the hot-seat up on the Senate side of the Hill.

Bernanke was quoted as saying the giant insurance company exploited a near complete lack of oversight.

Talk about a subject that has Americans HOT and ANGRY!

We watch and listen and wonder as do others. But, it’s certainly becoming clear that "Entertainer" Rush is expecting much more these days. He’s reinventing himself as he has not done before.

And, of course, that means he now becomes fodder for the late night Talkers on Network TV... such as David Letterman... you’ll find the link if you...

Whether it was CPAC last weekend or the RNC Chair unloading on Rush followed by the quick apology (which has been repeated a few times lately...)...

It’s game show and reality programming rolled into one... being presented on a new level.

You’re talking about it... here is one take on it all...

Once Entertainer Rush got a taste of the reaction from his comments a few weeks ago, it’s been onward and upward leading to the CPAC conference this past weekend. AS Keynoter, he was expected to light a fire beneath the proceedings... and that’s what he did.

And, now we’re hearing from NewsTalkers coast to coast suggesting a variety of comments. From: "Rush is pushing the envelope to see what the GOP is willing to put up with." To: "He’s really considering becoming the voice of the GOP because the new head of the RNC is not getting the job done."

What do you say?

From our earliest days as a reporter a LONG time ago we cringed when we found items of interest hidden away with the admonition "it’s confidential".

As we found out that typically meant someone didn’t want a written or verbal communication made public. Why? Well, typically it would have been an embarrassment.

The Obama Administration is doing something about that...

As you might imagine, it’s a BIG story down on the Gulf Coast. At least one of the four footballers out on that Saturday fishing trip has been found by the Coast Guard...

Here’s another suggestion... click on Front Pages from the above list of access/portals/links and look for the newspapers in the St. Pete/Clearwater area... they really have the story developed along with background information and pix.

We really considered the 7,000 level to be the basement but for the first time in a dozen years, the DOW has slipped below that level.

It has plenty of people concerned AND TALKING!

We’re so sorry to hear about the search West of Clearwater, FL., for four football players who went missing over the weekend. We’re all aware of the story... and having been out on those waters on many occasions, we know and understand how treacherous it can be especially when a weather front moves through.

It’s a sad day for radio as one of its pioneers has died at age 90. The familiar voice of Paul Harvey was being stretched a bit thin toward the end but that didn’t mean his enthusiasm for radio nor his daily broadcasts had diminished.

For anyone who knew Chicago radio way back when knew Paul Harvey before the country did. He made his mark there first and it was a singularly large and powerful position he manager to establish for himself.

Paul Harvey will be long remembered for a singular style that he managed to establish and maintain well beyond any of his peers. He was on-air straight through 70 years of history and will not be soon forgotten. We’ve been listening to all those who have tried to fill the shoes of the one and only Paul Harvey... and, of course, none have succeeded.

Good-night Paul Harvey. You and Angel are together again.

There have been some NewsTalkers waving the "Iran is About To Detonate Nuclear Weapons" banner for awhile lately.

Most folks who know about such things have not been saying much during the past half year or so.

Until today that is...

Defense Secretary Robert Gates went on the record as saying "they’re not close" to being able to put it all together and detonate a weapon. Much less have a stockpile of fissionable material at hand.

But, then just to make life interesting, the head of the Joint Chief’s said he thought that Iran does have enough material on hand to create a small weapon. Confused?

For the entire story...
