We’re so sorry to hear about the search West of Clearwater, FL., for four football players who went missing over the weekend. It’s a sad day for radio as one of its pioneers has died at age 90. The familiar voice of Paul Harvey was being stretched a bit thin toward the end but that didn’t mean his enthusiasm for radio nor his daily broadcasts had diminished.
For anyone who knew Chicago radio way back when knew Paul Harvey before the country did. He made his mark there first and it was a singularly large and powerful position he manager to establish for himself.
Paul Harvey will be long remembered for a singular style that he managed to establish and maintain well beyond any of his peers. He was on-air straight through 70 years of history and will not be soon forgotten. We’ve been listening to all those who have tried to fill the shoes of the one and only Paul Harvey... and, of course, none have succeeded.
Good-night Paul Harvey. You and Angel are together again.

Most folks who know about such things have not been saying much during the past half year or so.
Until today that is...
Defense Secretary Robert Gates went on the record as saying "they’re not close" to being able to put it all together and detonate a weapon. Much less have a stockpile of fissionable material at hand.
But, then just to make life interesting, the head of the Joint Chief’s said he thought that Iran does have enough material on hand to create a small weapon. Confused?
